Using a tapestry frame will help to keep your stitches neat and prevent the canvas from softening and becoming distorted. This all adds to the quality of the finished tapestry
There are three main types of frame:
- Rotating frame where tension is maintained by scrolling the frame arms and then holding tight with wingnuts.
- Screw type frame where tension is applied to the tapestry by adjustable side arms which ensure even tension across the canvas.
- A floor standing frame with a combination of scrolling bar at the top and adjustable side arms for even tension
The frames are all made from Beech wood which with its fine grain gives a smoooth splinter free finish.
To buy a frame simply select the width of frame you prefer from the list below.
For standard 3" deep Church Kneelers we recommend a 24" frame.
